UV applications
Sheet metal processing
Our quartz glass products are used in a wide variety of UV applications, such as water disinfection, ballast water treatment, air disinfection or surface disinfection/ treatment, because they have excellent UV transmission.
In the sheet metal working industry, e.g. in car body construction, our anti-reflective laser protection glasses are used to protect the high-quality optical components from material splashes. We also supply quartz glass lenses for various lasers.
Glass fibre production
Optical industrial applications
Glass fibres are long, thin fibres made of glass. To produce glass fibres, fused quartz glass is drawn into thin threads. Quartz glass tubes are used in the production of special fibres in various applications such as substrate tubes and cladding tubes for use as cladding material. In addition, quartz glass rods are used as handling material (handle rods) for glass fibre production.
Many of our products are also used in the optical industry.
Lamp construction
Medical application
Many of our customers use the quartz glass tubes they purchase from us in the production of special UV-C lamps. These lamps are usually called gas discharge lamps with a quartz glass bulb. A distinction is made between doped quartz glass and undoped material: Quartz glass tubes doped with titanium prevent the formation of ozone in water-bearing applications such as pond clarifiers.
Many of our special glasses are used in a wide variety of medical applications.
Semiconductor industry
Our quartz glass is used in semiconductor manufacturing because it has a very high melting point and is of great purity. It is used in diffusion and batch furnaces or in the solar industry for the production of wafer boats, carriers and bases.
